Peranakan Place - TUNG SOO TENG

This restaurant creates a better experience for leisure, social communication, and incorporates Peranakan elements. Peranakan Place is located at Jalan Galloway, Bukit Bintang. Due to the loss of the traditional elements and culture, the design is an interconnection between “The Past” and “The Future”. This design blended with Peranakan elements creates a contemporary and modern interior space that brings extra experience for the user rather than only dining in the restaurant.

 

The concept of “time-traveling” is achieved through the idea of connecting the two different points of time, which has inspired this restaurant. This concept aims to form a connection between the Baba Nyonya (Peranakan) and modern style and allows the user to experience the traditional culture and its elements. This space uses an open plan concept with sustainable and antibacterial material to help with dining experience in this pandemic period.
