The Forest House - SAW JIN GUI

FINAL PROJECT PRESENTATION BOARD (SEPARATE)-3 - J in_edited.jpg

The Forest House represents the concept of a shipping container and Si He Yuan - A courtyard design. The project is based on a prefabricated and modular design allowing for a cheaper and faster construction method. This modular system also gives the possibility of future modifications or enlargements, due to its adaptability. Up to 85% of the house is made of sustainable materials, such as recycled cellulose and cork for insulation purposes, recycled aluminium, iron, and wood.

The house has an area of 103.24 square meters. It is divided into two floors and uses 6 recyclable shipping containers as its main structure.  A wooden board structure with a thickness of 10cm is placed on the first layer of the container to support the second layer of the container. The opportunity to have extensive glass openings is maximized to provide an effective natural ventilation system, which also allows for full utilization of the natural environment, natural lighting, and overall landscape of the house.

About

SAW JIN GUI - J in.jpg

Saw Jin Gui

I am Jin from Selangor and I am currently a first-year in my degree of Interior Architecture of TARC. I have been taking drawing lessons since I was a child, and I am particularly passionate about interior design. I like to watch a lot of videos about interior renovation and Many people told me to pursue other subjects because I did well for my academics, and they even hoped that I study abroad. But in the end I choose my favorite and stick to it, hoping to continue to work hard in the future.
