The FrAME - TEE DING YAO 

Being fascinated by the view of the luminous shades of trees when sunlight penetrates through the foliage, my intention is to "frame" the landscape just like how we frame an artwork. In this art gallery, my priority is to preserve as many of the existing trees as possible. Trees are not just treated as landscape elements, but also integrated into the building as part of the design.

 

Different methods of framing are attempted in the building, in order to give the visitors an extraordinary experience. I believe that a frame creates a deeper dimension for one to immerse in what is being framed within.

 

Another point of consideration of my design is the "porosity", where I wish to create s feeling of still being outdoor while already entering the interior. The sense of openess is emphasized in my design.
